Channels 02:12
Stone walls They divide the silence to Forget it all again And I found momentary lies To scribble on stone Different interaction Paves a path Weaves a web You’ll never forget Feel fear, feel Who you are Who you’ve been forms a road Beyond stone walls

False realities Concocted by childhood fantasies I couldn't be Past anomalies You and I, we're separate entities I couldn't see Swallow expectations Invented by their calculations Self-mutilation Inspired by the population

Habit 03:49
I'm too used to you Breathing down my neck To, to please you I'll bite the nail Hammer down, hammer down my neck I ran through avenues To pry myself from you But I'll stick to habit I'll kiss the blade Cutting down, cutting down my neck I can't, I can't You’ll mess, you’ll mess it all I'll stay, I'll stay I'll give, I'll give and you will take
5.
Take It In 04:29
You've got a lifetime So don't let it get you down Don't let it get you down You're gonna be alright It'll all fall into place You'll fall into place You'll see it all Let it take you in You've got your motive So go and take it up Go and take it up Hesitation You see it coming You see it failing
6.
Spent 03:33
The last they saw of me The last they saw of me Shapes and sounds pull me (Deeper and deeper and) Wishes keep me wishing That I'll be satisfied (Deeper and deeper and) Ponder on questions Answers punched me out (Deeper and deeper and) I've lost those pages ages ago I've lost those pages ages ago
7.
Owls 04:20
Dark night Cold ground No one Nowhere I know that you’ll be fine I know that you’ll be kind I know that you’ll be fine I know that you’re behind me Way upon the surface You got it all but you leave it behind

Swan Song 05:21
You are, you are You are my shining moonlight Your voice, it sounds It sounds like a song I used to sing The leaves, they fall They fall like teardrops from your eyes I know, I know I know something isn't right The book we wrote Leaving a trace of memories These words I read I can no longer comprehend The truth, the lies Where do we draw the fine line? You knew, but why? Of all those hearts you could break This hurt, it burns Burns through the silence of the night You're gone, you're gone Forever has a number Au revoir, au revoir So long my shining moonlight Au revoir, au revoir So long my shining moonlight I'll never know what you don't know We'll never know what they don't know
9.
This is a whole new war of worlds Go Set my eyes ablaze in cadence Heavy hearts, high heads Move Wander through the wayward world Misfire, war zone, deadly walls Go Send us through I'm getting where I’m going This light will never change The more I fear, the more it shows I'm getting where I’m going This light will never change The more I fear, the more it shows There's nothing that There's nothing that would keep us here
10.
Terminals 02:26
Daybreak unfolds in a distant state Unknown to the Eyes of a separate fate Touch the memories Shared by minds that coalesce One step away One more and it’ll be okay What can I say? I thought we’d never see the light of day Seize reality Living in not knowing What’s the point when this could all be Just a dream Now we’re finally here Now it’s all clear One more and it’ll be okay

about

“Memory, I realize, can be an unreliable thing; often it is heavily colored by the circumstances in which one remembers, and no doubt this applies to certain of the recollections I have gathered here.” – Kazuo Ishiguro, A Pale View of Hills

Collective memory is an odd thing: what we consider shared experiences are hardly ever truly shared at all. Fraught with disconnections and distortions, they are felt and interpreted individually – subjectively – as our personal journeys impact the moments we remember and the recollections we make.

Following the release of their Inhabit EP in March 2014, Pleasantry launch their much anticipated debut album 'Synapses' out on KittyWu Records.

about

Pleasantry Singapore

Pleasantry was conceptualized and formed in late 2010. Recycling musicians from active as well as inactive bands, the quintet crafts and carves music out of each member’s disparate listening backgrounds. Drawing inspiration from dreamed-up scenarios based on real-life scripts, compositions showcase simple lyrical tones offset by the accompaniment of rich instrumentation and varied song structures. ... more
